The format has been messed about so much that nobody knows what it represents anymore. rest it for a dew months then bring it back boldly (as with Dr Who) with an emphatic style and mission statement and don't meddle with it for at least four years so the audience will grow to like and undertand it.

I think it's ridiculous that TOTP is being axed. Yeah, it's gone through a bad patch, but doesn't everything?! Give it the chance to improve again!!

It peaked in the 70s - but so did music. Lets have a DVD of all the classic Glam, punk, ska etc moments

Though it doesn't feel that it's in it's prime anymore, neither am I. Perhaps the fact that the programme looks tired is more down to the state of the viewer than the programme! Its still great for today's generation. Keep it in some form at least. Please.

I think it's an absolute disgrace, there are no other half hour programmes where you can experience different genres of music like you can on TOTP, I simply don't have time to watch music TV all day and really looked forward to my weekly chart show, it is a crying shame that the BBC are cancelling it. It all comes down to mismanagement as if they had kept it on Fridays at 730 it would be watched again as I watched it every week as I was getting ready to go out clubbing. Whats going to be axed next, Eastenders? I think everyone should boycott the BBC now and watch much better channels like E4 and challenge!

People talk about the great days of Top Of The Pops. For me, these are the great days. I enjoy the programme. It's unique. What will I talk about?

All things must pass and it is time for
the passing of TOTP. it has sadly run it's course, and become a dinosaur in a fast moving and possibly deteriorating pop music world. The cahrts are rapidly becoming irrelevent, there are to many styles of music and to many means of distribution for TOTP to maintain any influence. The music and presentation on
this programme have deteriorated and it is now a shadow of what it once was.

It's the only programme that I see that can keep me up to date with modern music in half an hour per week. I don't hae the time to watch endless videos on other channels. I do enjoy the live performances too which are lacking in other shows from mainstream pop acts.

As an aspiring musican Top Of The Pops was always my ultimate goal. I wonder how many other budding musicians (who made it) were inspired and motivated by the thought of getting on ToTP. What now for them?

I am gutted that the programme is going. It has been part of my life for more than 20 years. It should be put on at a peak time on a peak channel again. The viewers would come flooding back.
